The main objective of the project is to enhance the skills of educators and trainers in sports to effectively support children with autism and other difficulties. The project aims to provide specialized training that equips these professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to create inclusive and supportive sports environments.
Our "Inclusive Play” project aims to address by developing a comprehensive Inclusive Sport Training Program and a relevant Manual for Educators, Coaches and Trainers on how to utilize it, by organizing transnational and local capacity building activities, piloting the Sport Program widely at local level, and eventually promoting inclusive sports practices, fostering
collaboration, and establishing an Online Repository of Inclusive Resources and best ractices.

In this direction, the objectives, activities and envisaged impact of “Inclusive Play” are in line with the following priorities:
Sport: Promoting education in and through sport: During implementation, we will work towards developing a Manual for educators, coaches, trainers and other sport professionals, an Inclusive Sports Training Program with specified Modules that will be implemented and fine-tuned both transnationally and, most importantly, locally. This way, we aim to provide a state-of-the-art toolkit to our target groups, which will help them enhance their skills and competences in regard to identifying and supporting young athletes with special education needs and disabilities (SEND), in an inclusive manner along with their peers, as per the modern scientific guidelines.
Horizontal: Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth and sport: Inclusion in this project means that children from a given community learn together, by respecting the needs and conditions of each other, in order to dissolve situations of social and educational disadvantages that are created by discrimination – sometimes, even with the best of intentions – and many times lead to bullying, learning disadvantages and eventually early school leaving that later transmits to decreased social cohesion. By training the sport and educational stakeholders of sport clubs, we will provide SEND children the opportunity to be understood and be trained in an inclusive environment.
Horizontal: Common values, civic engagement and participation: By combining both of the above, “Inclusive Play” will contribute to, or at least help achieving an egalitarian ethos in sports through a change of attitudes and values in all stakeholders involved. Hence fostering the development of social and intercultural competences, lifelong learning and raising awareness of common EU values, based on the principles of unity and diversity.
