The project will focus on developing a toolkit to support the development of TSG (Traditional sports and games), which is one of the recommendations of the report "A Mapping of Traditional Sports and Games in Europe" by the DG Education and Culture of the European Commission. This toolkit will be designed to cater to the needs of all children, including those with special needs, and will be digitalized into a web E-Learning section to allow users to share ideas and advice on the implementation of the European New Traditional Inclusive Games (ENTI Games).
The project aims to address the lack of visibility and support for TSG in Europe, which are an important part of European cultural heritage and can promote social cohesion, inclusivity, and physical activity for all. The project also seeks to address the low levels of physical activity among European children and adolescents, including those with special needs, and promote the use of TSG as a tool for improving their physical and social-emotional health.
The project's activities will include research and collection of traditional games from 60 countries, local workshops to understand the self identified needs of PE teachers and sport coaches in terms of inclusion, and the creation of a structured report on selected and adapted traditional games. The project will also involve the implementation of local pilot-testing of the toolkit, creation of guidelines for organizing European Traditional Inclusive Games and Sport events, and implementation of the ENTI Games Week in each partner country.
